Community Development Projects

Youth-led action for stronger, more sustainable communities.

About this program

What we do

AYLC believes young people are not the leaders of tomorrow — they are the leaders of today. Our Community Development pillar mobilizes young volunteers, equips them with project-management skills, and resources them to design and deliver community projects that solve real social, economic and environmental challenges.

From WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) initiatives to school renovations, from tree-planting drives to mental-health awareness campaigns, AYLC youth volunteers respond where the need is greatest. Every project is designed in consultation with the host community and measured for impact.

We deliberately work in underserved areas — peri-urban settlements, rural villages and refugee-host communities — so that the benefits of youth leadership reach those who need them most.
